The maid who poisons then steals

I have seen the news last week on tv. This is the latest scam people who want to be rich at once have come up with. At first, I thought this maid was working alone. It was reported that her business has gone down the drain so she had to resort to this kind of crime. She’d poison everyone in sight and then she’ll take everything with value. After being captured, she confessed that she was just a part of a syndicate. She also revealed the one who was making the plans.

This maid has done this to four families already. One of the victims appeared on tv and was very angry. The victim revealed that the said maid poisoned three members of his family. These three are going in and out of the hospital for quite some time now since the poison inside their bodies is really hard to remove.

I hope this will serve as a warning to all people who immediately accept maids. Be careful when selecting people who will work for you.

Joey resigns from Manila Bulletin

Joey de Leon resigned from Manila Bulletin since it is the sister company of Balita. A column by Dindo Bellares in Balita’s July 29 issue said that Eat Bulaga!’s show in L.A. was a flop. Joey did not like the article since it was a lie according to him. Dindo also revealed that a GMA-7 executive was the one who told him about the flop. This statement placed Joey’s anger to a higher level. He now wants to know the identity of that GMA-7 executive. In exchange for that information, he will give Dindo two airplane tickets to US, may it be first-class or business-class, in any hotels in America for a week and five thousand dollars pocket money if he will reveal that person’s identity. Joey also told the world that if he sees Dindo in GMA-7 territory, he will resign from GMA-7 as well.

Joey emphasized that he hates liars and cheaters.

Brutal killing of animals

I’ve seen how butchers kill animals in one of GMA-7’s shows. These heartless people brutally slaughtered the animals. They used thick steel pipes to bring down horses by strongly striking them on the head. Some animals were burned to death. There were also some who kicked, punched and turned pigs upside down before killing them. Some even slice ears of pigs while they are alive. The pigs were screaming like hell when their necks were being sliced. I’ve read that pigs have the strongest sense of feeling among animals so they suffer a lot when they are slaughtered. Although there are a lot of producers who does not give a damn about animals and their feelings, there are some who still consider that these animals can feel. A certain slaughter house uses electricity so that they will not feel a thing while being slaughtered.

Producers of meat should always think of ways to lessen the pain the animals are experiencing when being slaughtered. Although they are not humans, they too can feel. I believe there are laws on slaughtering animals so they should follow the rules. Concerned sectors of the government should strictly look out for people who are violating these laws. I really felt sorry for the animals who were brutally slaughtered. I somehow felt their pain. I hope producers of meat who would be able to read this will do the right thing from now on.

Annabelle Rama is considering not to renew Richard Gutierrez’s contract with Bench

Richard Gutierrez’s mom, Annabelle Rama says she won’t renew her son’s contract with Bench due to unfair treatment he got. Annabelle is wondering why her son was not given a grand entrance like what Dingdong Dantes had. She feels that if the audience knew that it was Richard who was about to ramp, they would have been ready and the applause for Richard would have been greater. She also said that due to make-up, a lot of stars were not recognized. She heard people say, “Is that Richard?”

“Richard was supposed to be one of the endorsers of Jag. He should have been Angel’s [Locsin] partner. I asked for Doug’s [Douglas Quijano] permission, but he told me not to give up Bench since it was where Richard started. We are loyal to Bench, but look what they did to my son?” Annabelle exclaimed.

Two-time FHM Sexiest woman in the Philippines Katrina Halili was interviewed yesterday at Startalk to talk about the events that happened during the night at the World Trade Center, where the FHM Anniversary party was held. Katrina was about to reveal something that was not related to the word “happy”.

Even before the interview began, Startalk host Lolit Solis was already furious, saying things like “She has no right to do that to GMA stars!

Katrina and Butch Francisco calmed Lolit down, and when Lolit was finally quiet, Butch proceeded to ask Katrina on what really happened at the backstage of the event.

“Alyssa was the one who told me about what happened,” Butch shared before Katrina could speak. “She did not want me to tell it on air. But you know me, it’s hard for me to keep things like this to myself. Anyway, what did she do to you ?”

“I was puting on clothes in the CR, then I saw her [Rizza] and smiled at her.” Katrina said. “‘After that, she gave me a fierce look. I was shocked. I told myself, what the hell?’”

Butch asked Katrina, “Did Rizza also do that to Alyssa?”

“Yes. I was also shocked when I learned about it!” Katrina exclaimed. “LJ [Reyes] said that Rizza also did it to her.”

“Do you know her?” Lolit demanded. “Why did you smile at her?”

“I’m friendly!,” Katrina sweetly said. “‘Kapuso stars are like that!”

Cell phones could soon buy MRT tickets

Soon, our cellular phones could buy Metro Rail Transit (MRT) tickets.

BusinessWorld’s Saturday online edition released an article stating that the MRT would launch a mobile ticketing (m-ticket) system to cut long queues at train stations.

Under the mobile ticketing system, cell phone users should register by sending a text message to 2660. Subscribers would be charged 3% more than the regular magnetic cards.

A registered subscriber shall receive a two-dimensional (2D) barcode via SMS. All train stations would be installed with scanning devices that would read the barcode.

The devices at the Taft and North Ave. stations would be operational by Monday, according to the report.

Flood

I was riding a jeep recently and I saw an old woman eating peanuts. After eating, she threw the paper container outside the window of the jeep, thus landing on the street. I then realized that the thing she just did contributes to flooding. A lot of people do this. I believe some have knowledge about flood but they still do it since it is more convenient for them. For those people who do not care, here are the problems caused by flooding:

1. Water supplies- Contamination of water. Clean drinking water becomes scarce.

2. Diseases- Unhygienic conditions. Spread of water-borne diseases

3. Economic- Economic hardship, due to: temporary decline in tourism, rebuilding costs, food shortage leading to price increase etc, especially to the poor.

4. Physical damage- Can range anywhere from bridges, cars, buildings, sewer systems, roadways, canals and any other type of structure.

5. Casualties- People and livestock die due to drowning. It can also lead to epidemics and diseases.

6. Trees – Non-tolerant species can die from suffocation

Two were arrested for stealing PNR rails

Two individuals who were trying to bring home a two-meter asero (steel) inside PNR compound were arrested. If they were to sell it, they would gain P5000. One of the two is a minor. They defended themselves by saying that they did not cut it. It was already cut when they arrived and since they needed money, they stole it.

A lot of people are riding PNR trains in order to save money. If people like these two continue to steal things which belong to PNR, trains may not function anymore. If these happens, a lot of families’ budgets will be ruined. I’ve heard from Bente Kuwatro Oras that PNR’s yearly income is only around 22 million. PNR also said that the amount of steel that were stolen from them is around 23 million. This means there is no way they can buy again the stolen parts of the railway tracks.

I know life is very hard these days but doing bad things, just like what these two individuals did would only affect other poor people lives. Once PNR have been severely messed up, poor people would have to ride jeeps, buses and fxs which would cost more.

PNR train causes traffic in Manila

According to GMANews.TV, a Philippine National Railways train broke down on Wednesday in the middle of an intersection on Tondo, Manila, causing an hour-long traffic jam during a heavy downpour.

The north-bound train had some mechanical trouble and stopped at the intersection of Antipolo Street and Jose Abad Santos Avenue at around 1:38 p.m., causing vehicles to line up for about 2 kilometers.

Traffic aides diverted motorists one by one to Solis Street to get to Rizal Avenue.

The PNR management sent another engine to pull the stalled train from the intersection.
