Terminator 4

Wikipedia – Terminator Salvation is an upcoming science fiction action film set for release on May 22, 2009. Directed by Joseph “McG” Nichol, it is the fourth film in the Terminator franchise and stars Christian Bale as John Connor, Bryce Dallas Howard as Kate Connor, Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reeses, and Sam Worthington as the new terminator Marcus Wright. The film is set in 2018, focusing on the original war between humanity and the Terminator computer network Skynet. It abandons the formula of the series (Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Model 101 terminator time traveling to the present to protect or kill someone of future importance), the films rating could very possibly be R-rated depending on the final cut. Filming began on May 5, 2008.

Another movie to watch out for. I’ve enjoyed the first three movies so i might as well enjoy the fourth. I’ve heard that the director wanted Terminator 4 to stand on its own without the original films, so expect a lot of changes in the flow of the story.

De La Hoya’s last fight

“I told Richard Schaefer to get me the biggest fight possible. “Whoever it is, that is who we want. There is no particular fighter. Sergio Mora is a possibility. The winner of the Cotto-Margarito fight would be a great way to end my career. There are a lot of options. I am willing to fight whomever.” These were De La Hoya’s exact words when he was interviewed by fightnews.com. Other possible opponents in his farewell bout are Manny Pacquiao and Felix Trinidad.

He also said that he was planning to have three matches before retiring but Mayweather’s retirement ruined his plan.

It was not said in the interview how Mayweather’s retirement ruined De La Hoya’s plan of having three matches before retiring. I think he wanted Mayweather to be his opponent in his farewell bout. I hope Pacquiao would be his opponent. Two living legends fighting would be very entertaining.

Pinay teen wins international sudoku competition

A 14-year-old Math wizard fought 150 players in an international sudoku competition in Singapore last week.

Sarah Jane Cua, a sophomore student at the Pangasinan Universal Institute, won first place in Brand’s Asia Pacific Open 2008 held at Singapore’s Vivo City from July 11-13.

Cua told GMA News that she overwhelmed her competitors not only with her mathematical genius but also with her speed.

Sudoku is a logical puzzle played by filling in the game board so that the numbers 1 through 9 occur exactly once in each row, column, and 3×3 box.

The Filipino sudoku champion brought home $10,000 cash prize, in addition to a trophy and certificate.

Cua returned to Singapore yesterday to compete in the International Mathematics competition.

Miss Venezuela beats all odds

Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela was crowned 2008 Miss Universe held earlier today, July 14 (Philippine time), in Nha Trang, Vietnam. She dethroned last year’s winner Riyo Mori of Japan.

Miss Venezuela defeated other 79 contestants to bring home this year’s crown. The 22-year-old beauty was once kidnapped in her homeland and says the experience taught her to remain calm under pressure. She is the fifth Venezuelan to win Miss Universe.

Three other Latina beauties made it in the Top 5: Taliana Vargas of Colombia, 1^st runner-up; Marianne Cruz Gonzales of Dominican Republic, 2^nd runner-up; and Elisa Najera of Mexico, 4^th runner-up. The other finalist was Vera Krasova of Russia, 3^rd runner-up. The other contestants who made it in the Top 15 are from Kosovo, Spain, USA, Italy, Australia, Czech Republic, Hungary, South Africa, Japan, and Vietnam.

Miss El Salvador and Miss Thailand were awarded Miss Congeniality and Best National Costume respectively.

Our bet, Jennifer Barrientos unfortunately was eliminated earlier than expected. I’ve read some of the readers’ comments in PEP and I’ve noticed that they were blaming TV Patrol’s crew. They think that everytime TV Patrol is within the vicinity of the pageant, something goes wrong, like a curse. It’s Just like what happened last year when the crew of TV Patrol went to Mexico.

By the way, the pageant was hosted by TV host Jerry Springer and Spice Girl Melanie Brown.

Pacquiao knocks out Diaz

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has made another unforgettable moment by knocking out Mexican-American foe “Dangerous” David Diaz in the 9th round of their match yesterday, June 29. Pacman is the first Filipino ever to win in four boxing divisions. He now holds the WBC lightweight championship crown, aside from his super bantamweight, junior lightweight, and super featherweight championships. He definitely proved to everyone that he’s the best boxer in the world.

In the 8th round, Manny gave Diaz precise right-left-right punches that sent Diaz sagging and dazed. Manny’s five-punch combinations nearly sent Diaz to heaven. Unfortunately for Pacquiao, the clock saved Diaz.

Diaz was probably wondering how he can win the fight when the 9th round started. Face bloodied, he tried to go for offense, but Manny was already after him, giving Diaz a three-punch combination to the head.

Diaz looked very tired. Manny took advantage of the situation and bombarded him with series of hooks and jabs. Finally, Manny’s left connected to Diaz’s face which led to an instant knock out. The referee did not bother to count because he knows Diaz would not be able to get up from the punch. Manny took Diaz’s right while Diaz while lying down to thank him. Manny won by KO.

It’s my first time to play a browser game. My girlfriend was the one who introduced the game to me a few days ago. She received a game newsletter in her email. Boston Celtics won

The Celtics ended the Lakers’ hope of a game seven. The Celtics were unstoppable. I really wanted the Lakers to win but I think they were destined to lose game six. Even the Celtics’ bench killed their offense and defense. Kobe and the Lakers cannot do anything to stop the Celtics’ Three-pointers. As i was watching the game a while ago, I cannot help but feel sorry for the Lakers especially for Kobe Bryant. He is the MVP, he is my idol. Celtics fans were shouting and celebrating and the Lakers had nothing to do but turn their heads down. Boston’s Paul Pierce became the finals MVP.

I hope they will face each other again next year. I wish Lakers would have their revenge on the Boston Celtics.

Bryant leads the Lakers to the western finals

Finally, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to put an end to the very determined Utah Jazz. Although it was Jazz’s homecourt, Kobe Bryant was able to make 34 points, 8 rebound and 6 assists, good numbers which also made him player of the game. Pau Gasol on the other hand was able to contribute 17 points and 13 rebounds.

In the fourth quarter, Jazz had an opportunity to tie or even win the game because Jazz members were able to land in a lot of perimeter and three-points shots. Jazz were able to cut the lead to three. They just needed one three-pointer to tie the game. Actually they were able to make two three-point attempts but unfortunately those two shots did not fall in.

Each team showed their respect for one another. Fisher, a former member of Utah Jazz last season exchanged hugs with former teammate Deron Williams. Jazz fans cheered for their team very loudly while leaving the court for the last time.

The Los Angeles Lakers is now just waiting for their next opponent. New Orleans and San Antonio Spurs still have to battle it out in the hard court to become Lakers’ next adversary.

Rain is in Speed Racer the Movie

Asian music star Ji Hoon Jung (popurlay known as Rain) debuted as a rival driver of Speed, portrayed by Emile Hirsch. This movie was based on the classic anime series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida. Speed Racer showcase the kind of revolutionary visual effects and cutting-edge storytelling that has been the bench trademark of the Watchowski brothers’ films. Watchowski brothers participated in the creation of The Matrix and V for Vendetta.

Kobe Bryant finally wins an mvp award

Bryant won over New Orleans guard Chris Paul, garnering 1,100 points to Paul’s 894 and, more telling, 82 first-place votes to only 28 for Paul from 126 media members. Boston forward Kevin Garnett finished third (670 points, 15 first-place votes) and Cleveland forward LeBron James was fourth (438 points, one first-place vote).

Bryant thanked his family, teammates and then recounted an unpredictable ride that started with wanting to leave the Lakers last May. “I get goose bumps thinking about it,” he said. “It’s been a long ride, coming here at 17 years old and standing here almost 30. I’m an old man. I have tendinitis. I’ve been through all the wars. I’m very proud to represent this organization, to represent this city.”

I think a lot of people would agree with me that Kobe Bryant is undeniably the most talented player in NBA right now. He truly deserves this award.
